Update after a long winter...

My camera broke and my cell phone broke, so there was no chance lately to take new photos.

Here is a mix of updates from the past month until today. The most important thing that is currently done is the fence for the big yard - yeeeej. Rocki will finally get his huge garden in these days.

Spring - the terrace door is open and some plants are ready to be put at where they should end up in the yard.

Do you remember the view out of the window last summer?
The djungle where you couldn't see anything?
Well, we did some (eeehm, lots of) wood works and now you can actually see the street down there.

See the street? And see how much work we have been and will still  be doing in the yard...

More yard work to clean up...
I got so many barbs in my skin already.
This was my X-mas holiday work - setting up the new cupboards.
And here is Rocki on his terrace. We temporarily have some  hoardings set up, that he can just go out the door and be outside. This is only until we have the final fence setup around the big yard.

Rocki on his sun lounger on his terrace

Yeah, chilling...

He loves the sun...

This is also waiting to be plant into my yard. Just waiting for the fence so I can work in the yard with Rocki around me.

More pics to come very soon with the new cam.
This coming Saturday we plan to setup the fence around the complete yard - then my life can start over...

Finalizing the big construction

After 2 weeks of living in my new house it is slowly getting to what it should finally look like. Yesterday I got my inside door frames, which was the last part of "dirty" construction work (damn, the cleaning takes for ever...).
Before...
And after...

My new home office
Still a bit empty on the walls, but I will find stuff to put there...
And I got some new paint on the wall - this is also finalized now.
This is my little "balcony room" where the stairs go down into the bathroom,
my Mom's picture got a "frame" with wall paint :-)

And this is the other side with the many windows and the view into my yard.

In fall and winter you can even see the highway - waaaay down there...

And of course Rocki still loves his new couch
and already started "nibbling" on the new pillows that I bought yesterday :-)

Next big project: The fence!
This is the one big thing still missing so that Rocki and my life will become like living in paradise.

The first few days living at home...

I am finally living AT HOME and I sleep like a bear in this house! It is still a construction site, but it is slowly getting to become a dream house.
See how my floor tiles get put down in my house and Rocki helping the handymen :-)

My hall got yellow stripes on the walls.
All furniture (between the moving boxes) are still temporary and not at their final places.

Rocki helping my friend Rainer to put down the tiles having fun :-)

And Rocki trying to EAT the floor.

And Rocki enjoying the new floor tiles when it was ready in the living room. Still lots of space to jump around on it.

Slowly my house is becoming what it should look like - will keep you up to date, make sure to come by soon again.

I AM HOME

Last night if FINALLY came HOME !!!
My Mom was waiting for me with the new keys in my new house and I entered it with Rocki with tears in my eyes.
Everything I own was packed into a small Volkswagon van - although all my plants didn't fit into it any more (will have to hire some nice people for a 2nd ride to bring them to my new home).

Now I AM HOME - I still can't believe it, back in my lovely hometown with friends and family around!
See what it looks like now with all boxes in my halfway ready house, the floor tiles are still missing, but I don't care. I AM HOME :-)

All the boxes n'stuff I brought from Ulm - waiting in the living room.
Other side from living room with all stuff that moved just placed there.
With a view into my bed room.
My bed room with a temporary "borrowed guest bed" from my girl-friends parents.
Will buy a new bed this week.
My living room with the moving boxes with a view outside to my future terrace.

Of course I also brought my car HOME !
My Mom is a painter. She painted the frog for me, because there are lots of frogs on my property and she is so afraid of them. She is calling my new home "frog-villa". This new picture fits perfectly into my new kitchen.
Your remember the horrible stairs into my bathroom?
The handrail  is very perfect to go downstairs.
And of course my Mom painted a VERY NICE picture for it. Seen the flashes on the head (with ears) on her picture? I love it! She hung it there while the paperwall was still wet and the handymen who did the paperhanging almost freaked out when she started putting nails into it :-)

And - I slept for 10 hours in the first night in my new house! "They" say because I was so leached out from moving - but I bet it was the sleeping in the middle of nature with just birds around! I love my new home, although it will still take a while until I can put all my stuff to where it belongs to.

Be sure to come back. I will post new stuff soon on how the moving in and renovation goes on.

Yours Steffi & Rocki.

Finally - I am moving

Tonight I will have to sleep on my metal sun bunk/bench one last time in Ulm. Finally moving to my new house in Bayreuth tomorrow morning. More pics and news to follow...
The last part of my old couch...

Packing glasses...

Tomorrow I will be at my final destination!
